Water Sprite is also known by the names Water Fern and Indian Fern. This lovely plant is not as delicate as it looks; it is extremely low-maintenance and easy to grow, making it a great choice for beginner aquarium hobbyists. It does not need special or high intensity lighting, and it can be kept in any freshwater aquarium with adequate lighting. It grows rapidly under the right conditions and removes waste from the water in your tank.
Water Sprite can be planted in substrate or left to flourish as a floating fern – it’s up to you! It is completely safe to keep with fish and most invertebrates, including shrimp and crayfish. However, you may want to watch out if you have snails in your aquarium, as many different species of snails have been known to snack on Water Sprite.
