Lysimachia nummularia has a rather vertical growth habit and does not grow too bushy to the sides, and accordingly it doesn’t grow too many lateral shoots. When allowed to reach the water surface it continues growing emersed.
Lysimachia nummularia can easily be propagated by cutting off the top or some of the few lateral shoots. These are planted in the substrate after trimming. In general, Lysimachia nummularia forms quite a few roots on its nodes.
The ovate leaves of this stem plant are best presented in the middle- or background of an aquarium layout. Its light green to golden colour enriches many aquarium designs. Especially in Dutch-style tanks this plant is a true asset due to its leaf structure and its beautiful colour.
