JBL ProFlora Root Ball are a long-term root fertilizer – the special clay balls are fortified with important minerals such as iron and potassium that promote strong roots and healthy growth in aquatic plants in freshwater aquariums.
JBL ProFlora balls are a source of iron, potassium, Sulphur and stable trace elements manganese, molybdenum, zinc, boron, cobalt and copper in a form that can be easily absorbed by plants. The fertilizer prevents and remedies deficiency symptoms caused by iron and potassium deficiency. By promoting optimal plant growth, algae formation is reduced.
Many vital trace elements cannot be added to aquariums in advance as they are very sensitive and tend to quickly form other compounds or precipitate in an aquarium environment. As a result, they will no longer be available to the plants. However, as plants can only thrive and grow when they have access to all essential nutrients, JBL has developed a special fertilizer which contains all sensitive trace elements and other important substances in an adapted form: Plant Fertilizer 24. Supplying these substances daily is the only way to ensure healthy plants. Along with basic fertilizers and JBL AquaBasis plus, all aquarium plants are supplied with the optimal mineral nutrients and trace elements. An additional supply of CO2 is recommended.
Application
Depending on the size of the plant, one to several balls should be pressed into the root area each year.
Plant genera that absorb many nutrients through roots:
Echinodorus, Cryptocoryne, Vallisneria, Crinum, Nymphea
Plant genera that take up nutrients through leaves as well as roots:
Ludwigia, Limnophila, Hygrophila, Alternanthera, Cabomba
Oliver Knott recommends:
JBL plant fertilizers supply plants with all the main nutrients and essential trace elements via the water – by promoting optimal plant growth, algae formation is reduced.
